Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much should I expect the pest control service to cost?

Service costs are affected by three things: The size of your home, the size of your yard, and environmental characteristics that can make controlling pests a harder job. At Harbor Pest Control we schedule a free inspection with one of our experienced technicians. The technician will inspect your property, give you a firm quote and begin treatment right away if you accept. It’s that easy! Plus, we continually work to improve our treatments to adapt to changes in the environment or season so that we can keep your home pest-free all year round. And remember, we offer an Unconditional 100% Satisfaction Guarantee for the duration of your program so there’s absolutely no risk involved.

2. What should I know about the pest control products you use?

We only use products approved by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. We choose our products with a focus on the highest effectiveness and the lowest environmental impact. Our Pest Control Technicians receive ongoing safety training and continuing education credits to reinforce their expertise. The materials we use to kill insects and rodents are low in toxicity to people and pets with normal health. We avoid spraying flowering plants, fruits, and vegetables. For some pests (roaches and ants), we do use some alternative methods like gels and baits. We use strategically placed traps to eliminate rodents in your home. This allows us to easily monitor and change them for you.

3. How should I prepare my home for a general pest treatment?

You should remove all pets from a home that will be chemically treated as a precaution. If you cannot remove large aquariums or plants, they should be protected with plastic drop cloths during treatment. These are simple precautions that will decrease the likelihood of any negative impact on your pets and plants should anything irregular occur during treatment. Your Pest Control Technician will also give you guidelines about precautions you should take after treatment–things like washing pet food and water dishes before using them, and so on.
